Entries are now open for the Diabetes Nursing Awards 2026, celebrating the exceptional impact of nurses working in diabetes care across community, inpatient and specialist settings.
The awards recognise excellence in clinical practice, leadership, research and innovation, while providing a powerful platform for nurses to share best practice and help drive improvements in diabetes care and education across the UK.
This year’s awards will recognise excellence across eight categories, including Community DSN of the Year, Inpatient DSN of the Year, Innovation Award, Diabetes Technology Nursing Award, Diabetes Educator of the Year, Excellence Award, Research Project of the Year and Rising Star Award.
Sharon Jones, winner of both the 2025 Inpatient DSN of the Year and Diabetes Educator of the Year awards, said: “The awards recognise a lifetime of work and I am hugely grateful to win. Education is key for those working with people living with diabetes and I plan to keep working hard to raise the profile of this condition.”
Organised by Orange Juice Communications, a leader in healthcare communications, events and education, the Diabetes Nursing Awards aims to honour the exceptional contributions of nurses working in diabetes care.

Entry to the awards is free with all finalists receiving complimentary attendance at the ceremony along with up to three healthcare professional guests. Entries close at midnight on Friday, 17 April, 2026, with the shortlist of finalists to be announced in May. The awards will culminate in a celebratory dinner and ceremony hosted by Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE at The Orchard Hotel & Restaurant in Nottingham on Friday, 10 July, 2026.
